Adobe and Microsoft Are Working Together With MAPP

Microsoft made the announcement on last Wednesday at the annual Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, the new security initiatives and tools which focus on partnership with other tech and security vendors helps identify threats and vulnerabilities more quickly. Adobe would be releasing advance vulnerability information to security vendors through Microsoft’s existing MAPP (Microsoft Active Protections Program). 1. Amazing Speaker Lineup at FITC San Francisco

If you go to any FITC you are guaranteed to see some great speakers and learn a ton about the latest and greatest Flash techniques. FITC San Francisco is taking it to another level though. In addition to all the top-level Flashers in the industry there is also a slew of Adobe product folks that are going to be speaking. The proximity to the SF Adobe office makes it a quick trip for employees.

New Video Tutorial On Multi-Touch In Flash

I just uploaded a new tutorial that explains how to respond and handle raw touch data in Flash Player 10.1. In a previous tutorial I showed how to respond to gestures, but in touch mode you can track all of the touch points on your screen. The 3M display that I am using supports up to 60 touch points, although I have yet to think of an example of how to use them all. Lee

Flash Works On Touch-Based Devices (Video)

Several people have been making assertions that most Flash sites will not work properly on touch-based devices because these sites use rollovers or hovers for things like effects and navigation. Well I put together this little video together showing that Flash sites do indeed work the way you would expect since the Flash Player dispatches rollover events even on a touch screen. This video is aimed at clearing up the misinformation surrounding Flash rollover events and touch devices. The assertion that most Flash sites need to be rewritten is absolutely false.
